Privacy notice
Last updated 10 August 2026
The short version
Floofers is a reading site. There are no accounts, no logins and no advertising trackers. Unless you fill in the contact form, we do not collect anything that identifies you.
Who is responsible
Floofers is operated by RobKin Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17186685, at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. RobKin Ltd is the data controller for any personal data described here. For anything relating to privacy, including a request to see or delete what we hold, use the contact form.
What we collect
If you use the contact form
We collect the name, email address and message you type in, because we need them to read and reply. The message is delivered to our inbox by email through a third-party sending service, and is kept only for as long as the conversation is useful. It is not added to any mailing list, and we will not email you about anything other than your enquiry.
The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have contacted us and expect a reply.
If you use the shop
The “I’d buy this” button records nothing about you. It adds one to a count against that product, and that is all: no email, no IP address, no cookie, and nothing that could be traced back to you. We use it to work out what is worth stocking.
If you ask to be told when something lands, we store your email address, which product you asked about, and the date. Nothing else. We will send you one email, about that product, when it becomes available. It is not a newsletter, you will not be added to a mailing list, and asking about one product is not permission to email you about anything else. The lawful basis is consent, which you give by asking, and you can withdraw it any time by getting in touch.
We delete these addresses once the notification has gone out, and we clear anything that has been waiting more than a year on a product that never launched.
Analytics
We use privacy-preserving analytics that sets no cookies and builds no profile of you across sites. It records aggregate information such as which pages are viewed and roughly where in the world visitors are, and it does not store anything that identifies an individual. Because it does not store or access information on your device beyond what is needed to serve the page, there is no cookie banner to click through.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, which can include IP addresses, for security and to keep the service running. These are held briefly and are not used to build any profile of you.
What we do not do
- No advertising networks and no retargeting pixels.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
- No accounts, so no passwords to lose.
- No third-party font or script loading. Fonts are served from this site, so visiting a page does not tell anyone else you were here.
Where your data is held
Contact form messages are delivered by an email service on our behalf. Shop waitlist addresses are stored in a database hosted in the European Economic Area. Both are processed only to do the thing you asked for, and neither is used for anything else.
Links to other sites
Some articles link to vets, insurers, charities and clubs. Once you follow a link you are on their site under their privacy policy, not this one. We have no control over what they collect.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, or ask for a copy. In practice, if you have only ever read the site there will be nothing to send you, and if you have used the contact form it will be the message you sent. Ask through the contact form and we will deal with it within a month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled something, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change with it.
